Commie subs + QC + honorifics track. The encode here was interesting. Many scenes in the Blu-Ray had a dithering pattern where, for every 2x2 grid, either the bottom right or the top left pixel would be one 8-bit value darker. The pattern was consistent, so it was possible to reverse the dithering without doing some kind of destructive spatial denoise. Much like in scanned vs digital versions of comics, some viewers probably prefer the detail added by the dithering, fake though it may be. On the other hand, reversing the dithering allowed the debander to do its job better, as should be evident in the comparisons below. It seems like my script missed some scenes the dithering was in—that's fine, since I was trying to be conservative.
